Carly James

Born and raised in Alpharetta, Georgia, I'm a proud product of a vibrant Irish family. Growing up, I was immersed in the arts, expressing myself through music as a pianist and singer in various choirs. My creative journey took a thrilling turn in college, leading me to the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Fiber Art.
My thesis project, "Fresh Flesh," showcased a provocative collection of tattooed dolls and mixed-media pieces inspired by Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal." This thought-provoking work paved the way for my apprenticeship at Terminus City Tattoo under the guidance of my mentor Shane Sudduth.
Over the years, I've refined my craft, honing my skills at esteemed studios and cultivating a distinct style rooted in Western traditional tattoo art. My passion lies in creating timeless, bold pieces, particularly pin-ups and cowboys/cowgirls that embody the spirit of classic Americana.
Now, I'm thrilled to call Big Cat Tattoo my creative home, where I continue to push the boundaries of traditional tattoo art. With every stroke of the needle, I strive to capture the essence of my clients' stories, weaving tales of beauty, strength, and self-expression.
Let's create something unforgettable together.
